Meet Jen – Jen will be your podcast host for the TACT podcast series after being awarded a YWCA great YDEAS small grant.
I’m Jen, owner of Jen Seyderhelm Audio and Media. Photo – Tracey Murray Photography.
I started professionally in radio more than 20 years ago as an announcer and later a producer, journalist, news reader and sports commentator. I’m currently one half of the Classic Breakfast Show on Forever Classic 2CA.
With a Bachelor of Arts from Macquarie University, a Certificate IV in Music Industry Skills, Counselling Diploma and Training and Assessment Certificate IV, I have a love of people, communication and storytelling. In 2021 I created an Australian first Certificate II in Podcasting Foundations taught through the AIE.
My podcasts include The RISE Canberra Podcast, created by the ACT Government to reignite the arts after COVID, 20/40 and The Countdown of the Greatest No 1 Hits of All Time which I am turning into a book. I produce, co-host and edit my 2CA Breakfast Show podcast and was part of the Australian Podcast Awards 2021 Judging Panel.
In my spare time I’m a music historian, MC, event manager (Steve Kilbey was the inaugural gig at my Belconnen Arts Centre), writer for my industry publication RadioInfo, vintage clothes and vinyl hunter, dog lover, educator and story gatherer.
I’ve been married 20 years and have two teenage boys, a dog, cat and bearded dragon.
Meet Josephine – Josephine is the brains behind the graphic design for the TACT podcast.
We caught up with Josephine to discuss the podcast and her design choices!
“I am passionate about supporting women’s rights and health. As a woman myself, I think it is important to use our platforms to make our voices heard, especially on issues like health. It is important to build a community and safe place to talk about women’s health.
A good visual identity really needs to reflect the message and tone of voice of the brand.
I wanted the final design to be simple, inviting, and most importantly, a safe place to talk about sensitive sexual health topics. Sexual health can sometimes be a daunting topic and the TACT podcast is all about being in a safe space to talk about these things.
I wanted to focus on typography and colour to deliver a sense of professionalism but also produce a calming/safe effect. Too many elements would create a messy and stressful composition, the opposite of what I wanted for TACT.
The final design is clean, simple, and reflects the TACT brand values. I am very happy with the final result and I am excited to see what the podcast does!”
Meet Miroji! Miroji is an electro-pop duo from Canberra, made up of Gogo (vocals) and George (production) and will be bringing the music to TACT.
“We have seen first hand how important it is to support women in the music and other creative industries and are excited to be involved in the TACT podcast.”
With five singles and an EP under their belt, Miroji’s new single ‘Empty Air’ delves deeper into dance music. Their sound has been described as hot blooded and pulsating with electric chemistry. This year, Miroji are set to join the huge festival line ups at Spilt Milk and Stonefest.
