An update on the 2027 Survey of Women’s Health in the ACT

We are pleased to announce that our third Survey of Women’s Health in the ACT will open in early 2027!

Across the previous two surveys we have collected nearly 4,000 responses from women, femme identifying people, and people who align themselves with these groups in the ACT region, generating a unique and valuable local evidence base.

This data is being used to inform service funding, policy, and improvements in areas including mental health, maternity services, violence prevention and sexual health. The dataset includes extensive demographic data, enabling us to analyse the specific health needs and experiences of people with different backgrounds and identities, and in 2025-26 much of our work has involved this kind of deeper analysis of the data to create insights for our policy advocacy work.

The Research and Policy team are currently reviewing the survey questions and data collection methods, while we prepare for stakeholder engagement to update the survey for data collection in February to April 2027. While we try to keep questions as consistent as possible to enable comparisons over time, we are always looking to improve the survey to make it more accessible and inclusive so the data reflects the ACT population accurately.
